Nothing new just with busy w/ school but my whole transferring thing is going on so, hopefully I get a chance to talk about it soon in a post. I went to KTMF 2015 I'm going to try to edit it tonight. Okay, so when I'm working on school projects I've also been building and cleaning up my YouTube playlists, which I wish they add back the "counted views-most to least" option. Since the second half of last year Trap music or what I like to call K-Trap has entered the scene with whole 80s look / throw back song beats, which give me life; I have playlist for K-1980s if your interested plus this girl group Rubber Soul are really amazing new rookie group. Anyways, if your not familiar with TRAP Music here is a short summary:
Trap music is a music genre that originated in the early 1990s in the Southern United States. It is typified by its aggressive lyrical content and sound, where the instrumentals are propelled by 808 kick drums or heavy extended sub-bass lines, double-time, triple-time and other faster time division hi-hats, layered synthesizers, and "cinematic" strings.
Basically, TRAP is apart of the EDM genre. Within EDM trap music, songs often have multiple build-ups to "drops" which are characterized by a pounding bass drum in a four on the floor pattern. However, EDM trap music generally deviates from this formula, incorporating drops that utilize heavier, rhythmic bass drum hits that may fall on the offbeats of the beat. This is occasionally used to throw-off the listener's expectations, or create more powerful drops than a typical EDM song might contain. With some recent events I will not include Keith Ape on this list because I feel like people who venture into Hip Hop need to know the origins and respect who made it possible for them to express themselves i.e. if your going contribute/represent the art form, but the song is on the playlist. But I will give him a little credit for collabing / connecting with some of the best underground rappers from Japan and Korea.
