Lucky Bags in America?: There is fortune in leftovers

Hey Subbies,

I've been wanting a Luck Bag or Fukubukuro for years. "Fukubukuro is new year tradition or a custom in which merchants make grab bags filled with unknown random contents and sell them for a substantial discount, usually, 50% or more off the list price of the items contained within."  I watched my favorite Vlogger based in Japan doing all these Bag Reveals of what they were able to get and in the process of making me wish America had something like this that wasn't a monthly box. Currently, there are a bunch of sales going on in Online but who wants to pay for shipping.

From a marketing standpoint, Lucky Bags seems actually like a great idea since a lot "First World Brands" like Disney, Lush, Adidas, Starbucks, H&M, Claires, and Forever21 are already doing it. Even Streetwear, Thrift, Pet, and Electronic stores are taking part in it. Instead of just having sales racks you can also take those last season items as long as they aren't damaged and curate bags to shoppers, who the mystery of getting something from there favorite brands. Hell, there are young adult and adults alike going to stores places where they are waiting for limited items.

In Japan, it is a lot more hectic, possible on the same level as Black Friday. However, to combat the growing crowds for each year for these mystery bags they make customer line up and give each customer a ticket. Not only do they do that but they do a preview of what you might get if the customer decides to buy a bag online. And, it also really overwhelms sometimes to go to a store or shop online looking whats on sale or find clothes that fit you. Now in the US, we have all kinds of shapes and sizes, so my suggestions are to give each person their options of choice sizes of the bags or Clothing Sizes (i.e. Plussize or L/M or S/M). Some bags range from $20-$100 (~2000yen to 10000yen) and have 10 or more items even whole freak'n outfits.

My only experience with Lucky bags has been at conventions like Anime Expo. I like the option to buy them but for the most part, I go in with a game plan. But see people getting them and if they don't want something they can give it to someone who does.

Stores I think should try this:

American Apparel
Bed, Bath & Beyond
Charlotte Russe
Michael Kors
Nine West
Quick Silver
Toy R US
True Religion
Wet Seal

My Favorite Episodes from the Netflix Series Black Mirror

I happened upon this show during school, I saw my friend watching this crazy show that seemed to be a mystery to me. I finally asked my friend what heck she was watching during break time. She told it was Black Mirror and told me that I should watch it. And guess what, I did but months later and of course I binge watched it since season three was already out. I'm currently watching season 4 and my co-worker wants me to watch or at least catch to season eight of the Walking Dead because I've only watched episodes whenever I was over my ex's house I just wasn't really into the world completely going to shit at the time because that was a thing and old Doctor Who episodes. Anyways, I wanted to tell my favorite episode from each season. Also, I will include any specials and if the season went over three episodes then I will add another favorite episode from that season. I made this post mainly for people looking for something new to watch and if like Hitchcock, Outer Limits, or Sci-fi in general, so I hope you can get into at least one of these episodes.

S1E2 - Fifteen Million Merits (pssh they this song was in Jurassic World 2 trailers)

Bing feels trapped living in an enclosed, automated space, as a member of a society that rides power-generating stationary bikes in exchange for "merits", a form of currency they can use to buy things they need. One day, he hears a girl named Abi singing in the bathroom and falls in love with her. He decides to gift her fifteen million merits, that she can use to buy a ticket for a talent show. Abi accepts and enters the contest, where she is given a psychotropic beverage to drink before she goes on stage.

S2E1 - Be Right Back + White Christmas Special

Ash lives with his girlfriend Martha, spending a lot of time on social media, until one day he dies in a traffic accident. A few days later, Martha finds out that she is pregnant and decides to use a new technology that is able to simulate Ash's voice and personality on the phone, based on his social media profile and other audiovisual material. This service helps her overcome her despair, until one day she accidentally drops her phone and panics.

At Christmas, in a remote cabin in a snowy area, two men discuss how they came to be stationed there, a point of discussion they never had in the prior five years. Starring: Jon Hamm, Rafe Spall, Oona Chaplin, and Natalia Tena.

S3E1 - Nosedive (notice anyone familiar?)

In a society where one's social rating with others greatly influences one's life, a woman tries to improve her own rating to afford an ideal apartment by giving an appealing speech at her best friend's wedding. Starring: Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, Cherry Jones, and James Norton.
S3E4 - San Junipero

In a virtual space, the outgoing Kelly becomes friends with the more reserved Yorkie, and helps her to come to accept her repressed sexuality. Starring: Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis.

For Season Four I'll tell my favorites currently but without the episode titles.

Kwanzaa: Creativity | Faith

Slowly, New Year is reach the whole world and for last day I will try to cover Kuumba (Creativity) and Imani (Faith). The Day of Meditation
(Siku ya Taamuli) is done the last day to bring into the assessment of things done and what will be needed to be done.  Self-reflection on this day is a recommitment to values. It's a time to sober and humble oneself about who they are and who they will become. This day is also known as the "Frist Fruits" celebration of the Akan People. "The idea on this (day) is to maintain a quiet, humble and calm attitude with regard to oneself and towards one's neighbors."

K'a má fi kánjú j'aiyé.
K'a má fi wàrà-wàrà n'okùn orò.
Ohun à bâ if s'àgbà,
K'a má if se'binu.
Bi a bá de'bi t'o tútù,
K'a simi-simi,
K'a wò'wajú ojo lo titi;
K'a tun bò wá r'èhìn oràn wo;
Nitori àti sùn ara eni ni.
Let us not engage the world hurriedly.
Let us not grasp at the rope of wealth impatiently.
That which should be treated with mature judgment,
Let us not deal with in a state of anger.
When we arrive at a cool place,
Let us rest fully;
Let us give continuous attention to the future;
and let us give deep consideration to the consequences of things.
And this because of our (eventual) passing.

                               Eji Ogbe
                           The Odu Ifa

"To do always as much as we can in the way that we can in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than when we inherited it."

The Sixth Principle is Kuumba and logically follows from and is required by the Principle of Nia.It is a commitment to being creative within the context of the national community vocation of restoring our people to their traditional greatness and thus leaving our community more beneficial and beautiful than we, i.e., each generation, inherited it.

Day of Meditation

"To believe, with all our heart, in our Creator, our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle."

The Seventh Principle is faith, the belief in and commitment to all that is of value to us as a family, community, people, and culture.
Faith in ourselves is key.

Let's Pull Together!

Kwanzaa: Collective Economics | Purpose

Collective economics
To build, maintain, and support our own stores, establishments, and businesses.

"To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness."

Ujamaa is about building a strengthening and controlling of the economics of our community. Sharing the wealth is another form of Ujamma. Respecting the wealth is appreciated and valued rather than exploiting and engaging in the should be rejected for the good of the community.

To restore African American people to their traditional greatness.

To be responsible to Those Who Came Before (our ancestors) and to Those Who Will Follow (our descendants).

All people who are concerned with reaffirming family, community, and culture is essentially the purpose of human life is bring good into the world. It is identity is what overall matters. "Nia suggests that personal and social purpose are not only non-antagonistic but complementary in the true communitarian sense of the word." Commitment to the purpose not only benefits the collective as a whole gives meaning to individuals and isolates the pursuits. "Thus, [W.E.B.] Du Bois' stress on education for social contribution and rejection of vulgar careerism rooted in the lone and passionate pursuit of money is especially relevant."

Today's Symbol term to go with this Principle is:

The Candle Holder
This is symbolic of our roots, our parent people -- continental Africans.

The Gifts
These are symbolic of the labor and love of parents and the commitments made and kept by the children.

Underrated K-pop Artists I'm Excited About

Merry Christmas,

I'm really tired after eating dinner. But I wanted to highlight this artist before the year is up. Some debuted this year or couple years back, however, I think this year was their best year. Some have been called very underrated to the point of disbandment while others are doing okay. What I mean by doing okay for some it 's 100,000 views but I think by today's standards if you can reach 500,000, even a 1M you're doing good on each comeback M/V. If you like anything on this list then share it so others can see these amazing artists. Also, some have been on those popular group shows trying to get their shine on which can be a double edge sword (cough...cough DIA). In addition, please check out the 'honorable mentions' because I couldn't find gifs to showcase some of the groups/ artists on the list. Can you guys guess which group on this list has under 5,000 views? Well, I hope you guys enjoy the rest of Christmas. Enjoy! (BTW some of the songs I actually love and did pretty well on the charts.)
